Why do you post your warranty openly on the internet?

We believe that you should read the warranty BEFORE you buy the product.  We comply with all provisions of the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act of 1975, even though it complies to consumer, rather than commercial products.

The Act and the Rules establish three basic requirements that may apply to you, either as a warrantor or a seller.

1.  As a warrantor, you must designate, or title, your written warranty as either "full" or "limited".

2. As a warrantor, you must state certain specified information about the coverage of your warranty in a single, clear, and easy-to read document.

3. As a warrantor or a seller, you must ensure that warranties are available where your warranted consumer products are sold so that consumers can read them before buying.

Does ArtiKool™ contain chlorine?  Why not?

ArtiKool™ contains no chlorine or halogens, and is completely complaint with the Montreal Protocols.  Chlorine in your lubricant can interact with moisture and produce hydrochloric acid and this has an extremely adverse affect on your piping, compressor winding insulation, and bearing materials.

Current refrigerants contain very small amounts of chlorine...but future refrigerants (to be phased in over the next few years, with some in use now...contain no chlorine at all.  In fact, chlorides* are defined as a "contaminants" by the 1999 STANDARD for SPECIFICATION FOR FLUOROCARBON REFRIGER ANTS published by the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute.

As newer systems are placed into service designed to use chlorine-free refrigerants, manufacturers will respond by specifying materials that are compatible with the new environment.  If it isn't necessary to build in "chlorine resistance" they won't do so...because it is expensive.  Many systems are being placed into service TODAY which are "chlorine free".

Can ArtiKool™ be used in different applications?

ArtiKool™ can also be used in air-compressor systems.  The benefits provided by clearing piping of retained oil and the increased lubricity have similar effects in these systems.  Energy usage is reduced through increased lubricity and contaminants in the lines are returned to the compressor where they can be handled efficiently (through oil change).  The increase in heat-exchange efficiency will be helpful in air driers and coolers.

Is ArtiKool™ similar to those "Engine Oil Additives"?

Only because it is an oil additive.  ArtiKool™ contains no "friction modifiers" such as PTFE which have been shown to create conditions which can clog small passages and filters.  ArtiKool™ treats the METAL, not the OIL. Within about a week of installation (in most cases) no "active ingredient" remains in the carrier oil that was used to place ArtiKool™ in your system....ArtiKool™ has bonded with metal surfaces.

My Air-Conditioning systems don't have enough capacity. If I'm going to change them I don't need to treat them, right?

The system should be treated.  It may be possible that the increase in cooling efficiency will postpone the need to replace the system immediately.  If multiple systems covering a facility are treated, enough increase in cooling capacity can be seen to eliminate the need to upgrade for quite a while.

Also, if you are considering replacing some of your equipment because of maintenance issues (not related to leaks in metal components), you may find that many of these "issues" just go away.

Is ArtiKool™ compatible with all refrigerants?  Is this an issue?

ArtiKool™ is as compatible with all refrigerants as any refrigerant oil.  Compatibility with refrigerant oil is much more important.

Is ArtiKool™ compatible with my refrigerant oil?

ArtiKool™ uses, as a carrier oil, a highly refined mineral oil (in the primary formulation).  Many manufacturers make claims that they are "compatible with all refrigerants", when in fact...they are NOT compatible with all refrigerant LUBRICANTS.

Our distributors, dealers, and installers are trained to determine the type of lubricant your system uses before we apply product.  In the event you have what we know to be an incompatible oil, we can formulate ArtiKool™ using your existing oil type (exactly).

I've had a compressor burnout.  How will this affect my installation?

This increases the chances that we may see some clogging of filters or line driers after installation.  This is because compressor failures introduce a broad range of contaminants into your lines.  When the compressor is replaced these contaminants, for the most part, remain.  This occurs even when systems are "flushed" prior to restarting the new compressor.  While this may appear on the surface to be a "bad thing", it is actually proof that we are doing a good job.  These contaminants would eventually have found their way to your filters or driers but we have done it when we WANT to do it, not when chance demands.

Older systems, and those that have suffered compressor burn-outs, see the greatest benefit, in both reliability and efficiency, after ArtiKool™ installation.

I've heard that these types of products have been known to cause compressor failure.  Is this true?

Unfortunately, this is true.  Despite our differences from other formulations of "PROA" products, we have seen no case of failure where it could not be traced to improper installation, or failure to follow-up after an installation.  This is why we insists that all of our distributors and Master Distributors undergo formal training for supervision of the installation of ArtiKool™.

This is the reason you are told after installation it may require as many as three follow up trips to check air-conditioning and refrigeration systems after installation.

When ArtiKool™ is installed, will I see immediate results?

In the case of noisy operation, you may see (well..."hear") a change within minutes to a couple of hours.  In most cases, dependent upon the size of the system and the speed at which lubricant circulates within it, you will see the bulk of benefit  within three days to two weeks.  Auto air-conditioning systems, for example, will tend to show benefits within thirty minutes of installation.  Some large centrifugal or screw chillers may take as long as three weeks to see maximum benefit.

If I replace my compressor will I need to re-treat my system?

Remember, we treat the "metal", not the "oil".  If you change your oil you will not remove any benefit we have applied.  We recommend that, on oil change, you re-treat your system at 10% of the original "dose" to replace any benefit lost through normal wear-and-tear.  Since we initially treat your system at a ration of about 1:10 (10% of your existing lubricant capacity), for re-treating we recommend 10% of that amount, or about 1% of your existing lubricant capacity.

Will installation void my existing warranty?

Requiring you to use "Brand X" oil is considered a "tie in sales provision" in a warranty. Generally, tie-in sales provisions are not allowed. Such a provision would require a purchaser of the warranted product to buy an item or service from a particular company to use with the warranted product in order to be eligible to receive a remedy under the warranty.

The warrantor must prove that the other product actively caused the failure...it is not sufficient for him to simply claim it to be.

Will ArtiKool™ adversely affect my compressor seals?

No. It will actually serve to recondition many of your seals and should result in less probability of leaking and seal failure.
